Get Stretchy: 5 Yoga Studios in Phuket

Can’t do without your regular session of yoga? Whether you like it hot, enjoy sessions filled with dynamic and progressive movements, prefer a good, deep stretch, or want to try out a basic Hatha class, the wide variety of yoga classes and studios available in Phuket ensures that there’s something for everyone.

The Little Yoga Room, Chalong

If you don’t fancy pracitising yoga in a crowded class, being just one out of many faces in the room, the intimate class size and setting at The Little Yoga Room will float your boat. The maximum number of students for each class is capped at ten, ensuring a relaxing atmosphere and personalised attention for all students. Duration for each class lasts about ninety minutes, and ashtanga yoga – a method of yoga that involves breath synchronisation with a continuous series of movements and postures – is taught in all classes. Classes are conducted daily, except on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and private sessions may be arranged with the yoga instructor, Becky.

If you’re a novice, start with the beginner-friendly Warm Yoga and Warm Flow classes. Yoga Republic, Choeng Thale

If you’re one of those who like it hot when it comes to yoga, you’ll enjoy sweating it out at Yoga Republic. Infrared heating system is installed in the studio to provide heat in an eco-friendly and non-allergenic manner. Such systems also stimulate an anti-inflammatory response in the body, thereby decreasing the sensation of pain, as well as speeding up the process of soft muscle tissue repair in the body.

Two forms of yoga, Hatha and Vinyasa, are taught at the center. Temperatures for the Vinyasa yoga classes are set at about thirty degrees, while temperatures for Hatha yoga classes may rise up to a whooping thirty-eight degrees. You’ll be working up a sweat here, so be sure to keep hydrated by taking plenty of water and fresh juices (available at the in-house juice bar) after an invigorating yoga session.
